The idea
Lithuania has more road than you think. This is the west-bound classic: Vilnius to the Curonian Spit, done slowly, with forests and lagoon towns in between. Around 350 km each way — nothing for a week, exactly right for Bee.
Days 1–2 — West through the forests
Leave Vilnius after the handover, sleep the first night near Žemaitija’s lakes. Long fourth gear, 90 km/h, windows cracked. Arrive at the coast on day two with the whole trip still ahead of you.
Days 3–5 — The Spit
Ferry across to the Curonian Spit: dunes on one side, lagoon on the other, and Nida at the end — the town where the first Bee summer happened. Fishing villages, smoked fish, sunsets over water.
Days 6–7 — The northern coast home
Back over the ferry and north along the seaside before turning east. Empty beaches even in July, if you walk ten minutes.
Honest notes
The Spit is a national park with an entry fee per vehicle and strict overnight rules — campsite only, book ahead in summer. Worth every cent and every rule. Details in the Birbi guide.
